.SPRING 2008 DATES ARE APRIL 18 THRU 26, 2008.
We will be setting the Fall 2008 dates very soon.
Tentatively the dates will be Oct. 17-25, 2008.
*****NEW We will NOT require a deposit with the
application. Once we let you know that you are on the
team, you will have 14 days to remit 1/2 of the total
trip cost. We will specify that amount when we have the
final figures. The airfare will be due approximately 2
months before the mission and the final payment will be
due approximately 1 month before the mission. We will
notify you of the specific dates after your acceptance.
Click here for "Typical Trip Costs and
Information". Your application MUST include the signed
"Volunteer Agreement" and "Medical Application".
Although we usually include a deadline for applications,
we are developing a team, with an ideal number of
volunteers with certain skills for each position.
Therefore, as an example, if 20 ATVs apply before the
deadline, and we can only take 12, some of those 20 will
not be able to go on the next mission even though they
applied in time. We will be happy to put those that we
are unable to include on a waiting list for that
mission, or on the list for the next mission if they so
desire. We hope that prospective applicants will
understand this and we will make every effort to
accommodate all of you who are generous enough to
volunteer.
Assembling and coordinating a team of 35-40 people can
be a daunting task. Once a volunteer has been accepted
to go on a mission there are several deadlines to be met
such as payment for the airline tickets, payment of the
final mission bill, receipt of all medical forms, etc.
Those volunteers who cannot comply with the deadlines
may by necessity be removed from the team and be
replaced by someone on the waiting list.
Our evacuation insurance will not cover anyone over the
age of 79. Therefore, if you are over that age you will
be responsible for purchasing that insurance on your
own.
